4 Till 44

Officially, 4 days from now I will turn a sweet 44.

I’m not one of those women who will deny their age. I celebrate being older. Other than the aching joints, I welcome the chance to grow older.

So, how will we be celebrating? Well, for the first time, we’ll be traveling on my big day. Thanks to the hubs, what should have been a business trip is now a family affair. The kids are coming along as well. I can’t imagine what it will be like if I don’t have them with me on my birthday.

Where are we going? Singapore!!

It’s been 3 years since we visited and I’ve been planning to go, anyway. So this just came right on time.

No Road Trips For Now

I’m really hating the weather lately. It has been raining…and raining….and raining. And guess what…it’ll rain some more according to the weather bureau.

Because of this, its been a pretty lean year with regards to road trips for us. Other than my quick day trips, we haven’t been out of town this year. Too risky.

Much as I would like to plan something for the coming semestral break, I’m wary of the many road hazards that come as a result of this bad weather. A friend of the husband figured in a landslide on their way up north during a particularly rainy trip. They’re ok. Shaken but ok.

Back To School

In 2 weeks, it’s back to school.

Time to say hello to waking up at dawn to prepare lunch boxes and driving to school on nothing but coffee.

How time flies. I barely felt the summer vacation go by and its back to school. Surprisingly, my kids are happy. They can’t wait to see their friends again. I don’t remember being that way when I was younger. Not that I didn’t like school. I loved school. I just love vacation time more.

But first things first. Need to gas up the checkbook for enrollment. That’s this week.
