Last Monday, my youngest daughter proudly announced that she was one of the nominees for class officer. This means that she stands the chance to be elected Class President!! Woot!!
And this comes on the heels of her being assigned as Class Marshall at the beginning of the school year. The Class Marshall is the one assigned to reprimand whoever is not behaving. In other words…the chu-chu of the class. The role is actually perfect for her since she is such a stickler for rules…or so I thought.
Anyway, when I found out that she could be elected President I said that we would campaign for her. I was joking, of course, but I just wanted to see how far she would believe me. I said that I would give out erasers to all her classmates so that they would vote for her. Then I said that I would “hire” Kuya Edwin (Ate Arlyn’s husband) to give out envelopes with “baon money” and ballots to all her classmates on election day. And I taught her a spiel…
“Please vote for me because I want to be President…like my Mama. And I promise to give you erasers!!”
My future politico was already trying to memorize her spiel when we all got a sudden reprimand from Gaby.
She said that she wasn’t allowed to do that because that was a “major offense” and she would be disqualified if she asked anyone to vote for her. Needless to say, that was the end of our campaign.
By the way, Gaby was declared as the Role Model of her class because she was the only one who displayed the qualities of a “proper” Grade 2 student. Ahem….
I think I should learn to keep my mouth shut in her presence from now on. I might be suggesting major offenses with the way I think..harharhar.
As for my politico…win or lose, she’ll be a winner to me. She is officially an officer already so we just need to jockey for a better post….when Gaby’s not listening…hehehehe.
